MPs' expenses case taken to Supreme CourtThree former Labour MPs accused of fraud in parliamentary expenses are to take their case to the Supreme Court.

Elliot Morley, David Chaytor and Jim Devine, a call to the most senior judges in the country at a hearing next month. The three, with Lord Hanningfield, a fellow conservative was also charged with fraud charges, is due to a trial in November.

But they are not trying to argue that ordinary criminal courts because of the secular laws of parliamentary immunity.

Three judges of the Court of Appeal against them in July, saying he could not imagine how the ancient defense could never cover the ordinary criminal activity and parliamentarians. Read more
